The increasing number of cases of infant earaches and ear infections diagnosed and treated by pediatricians and primary care physicians has been a major concern for some time. Many of these cases involve ear infections at a young age. Many children experience a cycle of ear infection, treatment, cure, and then re-infection until finally, a tube is inserted into the eardrum, a procedure doctors are reluctant to perform. Recently, antibiotic resistance has been reported in the most common bacteria causing ear infections.

Ear infections are a source of frustration for doctors and parents, cause pain and discomfort to infants, and increase medication and medical costs. It's important to focus on identifying the cause rather than treating the symptoms.

A baby's Eustachian tube is horizontal, parallel to the mouth and ear. When liquids, such as breast milk or formula, enter a baby's Eustachian tube, they may not be able to leave the tube quickly enough. This trapped liquid can become an ideal breeding ground for bacteria to grow, causing painful swelling and infection.

Feeding with your baby's head tilted, or even worse, lying on their back, can easily allow breast milk or formula to get into the narrow Eustachian tubes.

Many doctors recommend feeding babies in an upright position. If the bottle design facilitates feeding in this upright position, then any formula that gets into the Eustachian tubes will be minimized.We have concluded that the traditional baby bottle is an imperfect and widely accepted flawed design.. It has been shown that infants are more likely to choke when trying to swallow with their heads tilted.

 

We developed the Betta Baby Bottle to make feeding the right way easy. Mothers, fathers and grandparents who participated in our clinical trials reported a significant reduction in ear infections in babies who exclusively used the Betta Baby Bottle. In our clinical trials, we observed a significant reduction in the rate of ear infections in the group of infants who only used the Betta Baby Bottle. Many mothers have reported that their babies have become more likely to burp since switching to the Betta Baby Bottle. The clinical results from each patient were truly impressive. In collaboration with other pediatricians, we also conducted a double-blind study comparing the Bétta Baby Bottle with a traditional straight bottle, the results of which are included in the attached document.
