I want to conceive a second child!
Many people are worried about itSecond infertility
People who have had one baby and then become infertile are called "second-time infertile," and the number of such cases seems to be on the increase these days. So, what should we pay attention to in order to conceive a second child?
A surprisingly large number of people have trouble conceiving a second child even though the first was conceived quickly.
First, the average age of first childbirth was 28 in 2000, and it will be 30.9 in 2021. Since the age of first childbirth is over 30 years old, there are various risks involved with a second child, and many women have experienced with their first child how taking maternity or paternity leave affects their work and the people around them, and are hesitant to become pregnant. This seems to slow down the second pregnancy.
Gradually declineOvarian function
《 Eggs also age 》
The most appropriate time for women to conceive and give birth is in their 20s and 30s. Ovarian function reaches its peak in the late 20s and gradually declines in the 30s. The lowest spontaneous miscarriage rate also occurs between the ages of 25 and 29.
As both women and men age, each organ of the body ages, and of course the female egg also ages. Unlike male sperm, eggs are not newly produced. Therefore, the older a woman gets, the more her eggs age.
In addition, uterine and ovarian diseases, unbalanced lifestyles, excessive stress, and other factors have accelerated the aging of eggs without being noticed, and unfortunately, aging eggs cannot be rejuvenated.
Many women who have had their first child are in a hurry to have a second child, thinking lightly that they should be able to have a second child as soon as they want one, and that they will not be able to have a second child anytime soon.
Generally speaking, if a couple continues to live together without contraception for two years, about 90% of them will become pregnant.
"It should happen sooner or later!" If you want to have a baby but can't, it is better to see an obstetrician immediately for a consultation.
When a woman is unable to have a first baby, it is called primary infertility, but when she has been pregnant once and then becomes infertile, it is called secondary infertility.
The treatment for second child infertility is the same as for primary infertility, but if the marriage itself tends to be a late marriage, the second child will be even older, so treatment must be more urgent than for primary infertility.
A woman's body should be able to conceive normally after her first pregnancy if there is nothing wrong with her body at all. Unfortunately, however, as a woman gets older, she may experience a variety of problems.
For example, the fallopian tubes may have been mildly inflamed during the first birth.
Gynecological diseases such as endometriosis, uterine fibroids, and uterine adenomyosis tend to increase with age. This also causes the miscarriage rate to increase in women in their late 30s and 40s, even if they do conceive.
Menstruation may change after the birth of the first child, but ovulation itself will not disappear. However, there may be a change in the quality of the eggs themselves; after the age of 35, egg quality declines and becomes a serious problem after the age of 40.
Stress from childcare and lifestyle changes may have some effect on a woman's reproductive function. Trouble during the birth of the first child may lead to ovulation problems later in life.
The fallopian tubes are also very important for conception, and at the end of the fallopian tubes is a sea anemone-like structure called the fallopian tube sheath, which has a "pick-up mechanism" that captures the egg. This is thought to be one of the causes of "functional infertility," which has no known cause.
Various things affect the time of conceptionSpecific plans, not just immediate ones
《 Sperm condition 》
Although there is no clear guideline for men because their reproductive function does not change as much as that of women as they age, it is still said that sperm are affected by aging and stress as well.
Some people are blessed with children even at age 60, but it varies considerably from person to person. The older a man gets, the greater the increase in work-related and other stresses may affect his marital life.
《 Social exclusion 》
Due to childcare, work, and changes in life circumstances, the frequency of sexual intercourse between couples may have decreased since the first child. Social factors are also considered one factor contributing to infertility, and sexlessness has also become an infertility issue.
In addition, women are making remarkable inroads into society, and the government is currently promoting the advancement of women, and is also guiding the discharge of female executives. In their late 30s, when they are starting to take on posts of responsibility and projects, it may be harder for them to take the plunge into pregnancy themselves.
It is important to know the condition of each body and make a plan, not just for the immediate future.
It is important to make a concrete plan, not a "someday" plan, and to have both the woman and the man examine their current physical condition, and based on the results, to think together about what kind of family structure they would like to have and what kind of life plan they would like to create.
