Difficult 'curve' molding
The curved shape makes it very difficult to manufacture, and even skilled glassmakers find it difficult to make this shape with heat-resistant glass. Work begins early in the morning at one of only a few handmade glass factories in Tokyo, and after about two hours, the work comes to a halt because the possibility of producing a quality product is drastically reduced.
The glass dough melted in a furnace at 1500 degrees Celsius is scooped with a winding rod, poured into the first small mold, and placed into a mold where a third craftsman waits, finally producing this shape.
After these operations, about 40% of the precious bottles finally produced are discarded after rigorous checks. In consideration of appearance, bottles with large bubbles are discarded, even if they are not dangerous in any way. After the mind-boggling process, only bottles that have passed the strict checks are shipped as products. Dr. BETTA baby bottles are made of heat-resistant glass, and are truly handmade works of art.
