Product Description
Made from rare cocoons spun by wild silkworms.
This special silk fiber gently protects your baby's skin,
just as the cocoon protects the silkworm from the sun, rain, and wind.
Give your baby the best first touch.
What a baby wears first is very important.
The first thing a newborn baby touches is literally their "first touch" with the world, a crucial moment for them. We want to be extremely careful about what touches a baby's skin because they are born naked. With this in mind, "Silk Clothes Ubugi" uses Elisilk fabric, a blend of rare silk threads with a special fiber structure from wild silkworms and high-quality extra-long staple cotton in an optimal ratio. It's an exclusive baby bodysuit that offers a comfortable feel, is lighter, and provides excellent UV protection.
Gently Protects Your Baby
as if They Were in a Cocoon
To imbue our bodysuits with our care for babies, we focused on rare cocoons as the material. By using silk made from the cocoons of wild silkworms, which have a special fiber structure, rather than common silkworm cocoons, we've created a bodysuit that offers a comfortable feel, is lighter, and has superior UV protection. The cocoon, which protects the larva from the outside environment, now gently protects your baby's skin.

A thread finally created after years of research
Tokyo University of Agriculture,
Representative of
the New Silk Road Project | Prof. Takayuki Nagashima
Dr. Takayuki Nagashima, a professor at Tokyo University of Agriculture who discovered the special silk produced from wild silkworm cocoons, conducts daily research on the wonderful functions of insects in his Insect Function Development Laboratory. He has particularly focused on the properties and diversity of silk, stating, "Silk is not just the one type of silkworm silk we commonly know; over 100,000 species of insects already produce silk. From that vast array of silks, I focused on the silk thread spun by the wild silkworm." This very silk thread spun by the wild silkworm is the raw material for "Silk Clothes Ubugi."

The Best of
Both Silk and Cotton
By combining rare and excellent wild silkworm silk with Pima cotton, which has a low global production and a pleasant feel, in an optimal ratio, we have created even more wonderful functions and benefits.
Careful Sewing
Since soft fabric is used, the sewing is also done carefully with fine stitches. Japanese sewing artisans specializing in baby products gently finish each piece by hand.
The tag is on the outside, so it doesn't directly touch the baby's skin.
Soft tape is used for sewing around the neck and thighs to prevent stress on the baby's delicate skin.
The color-coded snaps prevent confusion when tying, showing consideration for the person dressing the baby.
The blue embroidery adds an elegant accent, complementing the natural color of the fabric.

Wearing Tips According to the Scene
Please change your baby's clothes according to seasonal changes and temperature fluctuations between morning and evening. As your baby grows day by day, they will return the gift of a cute smile. For moms and dads, it's the happiest moment. May the comfortable times continue.
Case 1
In spring and autumn, for indoors or walks

Layering a Body Suit, which covers the belly even when moving around, over the usual Short Underwear creates a versatile and classic style perfect for staying indoors or going for a walk in the neighborhood.
Case 2
For a napping time

The Suit Underwear made of smooth fabric, which has an excellent feel, is perfect for napping. When combined with a Short Underwear, it provides excellent temperature regulation.
Case 3
When it's hot

Babies sweat a lot. When the temperature rises, let them wear just one underwear. For newborns who mainly nap, a Short Underwear is best, but if they start moving around and you're worried about their belly showing, a Suit Underwear or Romper is ideal.
Case 4
When it's chilly

On cold, chilly days, layer a Suit Underwear that covers the belly over a Short Underwear. It's also recommended to wear a Body Suit on top, which can be used for going out. While observing your baby, you can also layer a vest or other items.
Easy Care
Though made of silk and cotton, they are machine washable with a net. Since it's something worn daily, easy washable is the best choice. Wild silkworm silk, which is durable against washing, is a mother's ally.
"Silk Clothes Ubugi" as a Baby Shower Gift
When you receive happy news, underwear is the best first gift recommendation. You want to be extremely careful about what touches a baby's skin because they are born naked. The "Silk Clothes Ubugi," made from a hybrid silk and cotton fabric, is made in Japan and is ideal for gifting.
Comments From Experts

Dermatologist|Dr. Kazumichi Maruyama
What is desired for a baby’s first clothing is that it is gentle on the skin and has good moisture absorption. A newborn’s skin is very delicate, so this silk, with its excellent moisture-absorbing properties, is very good for their skin. Please dress them in this carefully chosen natural material.

Pediatrician|Dr. Akiko Ogawa
Babies, with their active metabolism, are always a bit sweaty, so good breathability is important. This "Kinu no Uzugi" is made of a special silk, so I think it's very suitable for babies. It's also great for moms that it dries quickly after washing. The fact that it provides UV protection just by wearing it is also reassuring for walks.

Midwife|Yoko Nambu
Babies sweat surprisingly a lot. Their metabolism is active, so they need frequent changes. You'll wash clothes many times a day! For delicate skin, you want to choose high-quality silk products or fine cotton materials that absorb sweat without feeling sticky and won't irritate.
Supporting Cambodia
〈 Silk Clothes Ubugi Eco-Cycle 〉
Wild silkworm silk is currently a very rare raw material, making it a very expensive thread. If this wonderful thread could be used more widely, we could create comfortable and safe clothes not only for babies but for everyone. By supporting Cambodian farmers, where many trees preferred by wild silkworms still exist, this silk can become more accessible. We believe this is an important mission that benefits not only us but also contributes to the support of Cambodia.
As a gesture from everyone who purchases "Silk Clothes Ubugi," we would like to donate a portion of the sales to support Cambodia.
